「PART 3」I'VE PASSED MY PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL EXAMINATION

I was having an anniversary dinner and chatting happily with my boyfriend after work on a Friday night, an email notification interrupted our conversation.

I couldn't believe that I've finally received the email!!

"Am pleased to informed that you have cleared your pre-employment medical examination...."

My body check-up was done on 4th October and I received the email on 30th November, been waiting for almost 2 months. I thought I've been forgotten or something went wrong because most of the people received the email within 2 weeks or 1 month, I've even tried sending an email but there was no reply. Anyways, at least I have an idea on when should I resign from my existing company now. HAHA!

SO, what's the next step?

We have to prepare a few documents (IC, passport, education certificates) to put in an application for the work pass.

It usually takes a few months before the Ministry makes a decision so we're not encouraged to resign from existing company until we receive official word from the SIA.

A girl who passed the medical check up on early June who's able to start immediately got her training date around August to join the September class whereas a guy who needs one-month prior notice got his training date around the end of September to join the November class.

It all depends on your notice period and the Ministry of Manpower to get your work pass approved. The time frame could be different for every individual. Some waited for 3 months, some 6 months and some even close to a year after passing the interview.

27/05/18: I passed my interview
01/10/18: Received the medical examination letter upon request
04/10/18: Done my medical examination
30/11/18: Received an email - passed my medical examination

All I have to do now is to wait patiently... again...
